A story of musicians, of simple people, marked by an unremarkable destiny, who come and go in the world.

Film director Manuel Iborra brings to Sala 1 at Naves del Español the theatrical version of the film he directed, now twenty years ago. Inspired, like the film, by musician Santi Arisa's tour of the Far East, Orquesta Club Virginia features several members of the film's original cast, such as Antonio Resines, Jorge Sanz, Enrique San Francisco and Pau Riba, accompanied now by Pepón Nieto, Juan Diaz and Victor Elias as members of the orchestra. Macarena Gomez, Miranda Gas and Guillermo Montesinos are other members of a large cast of seventeen actors and actresses.

Regarding the piece, Iborra says that “Orquesta Club Virginia” is the life of an orchestra in miniature, about people who once dreamed that music was the best sort of life for a man. “Orquesta Club Virginia” is a story about how men live, about the emptiness of living and desperation, about the joy of living and happiness, and, above all, about the stubborn conviction that there is always something better awaiting us.

The role of Curt will be played by actor Jorge Sanz May 16, 17, 22 and 23, and from 12 June until 15 July; and by actor Juan Díaz 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31 May and 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 June.

June 21, 22 and 23 there will be no performance due to the celebration of the Día de la Música [Day for Music].
