LATIN STYLE

The collective Elgatoconmoscas sets out to build a bridge uniting the Latino community of Legazpi and the center for creation located there with a day of Latin style.  Beginning with an event where you can try Pica Pollo [fried chicken], at 2pm, with the next on the line-up, at 4:30pm, taking us on a tour of the beauty parlors and hair salons on the Dominican block.  These establishments offer their variety of styles, artwork, manicures, and makeup for one and all.  Each makeover will be documented to have the 'before and after' displayed throughout the night.  At 9pm the session in the square at Matadero will begin, with screenings of the day's images and a concert by Tu Francis  together with his bachata orchestra.  It's an event that intends to bring different members of the public and different neighborhoods closer together using music and Latin culture.  When the session is finished, the party will keep on going after midnight in the Dominican bars nearby.  This initiative is part of the project Latinoamérica Go.es by Elgatoconmoscas, begun at El Ranchito together with Arquitectura Expandida, in 2011.
