The Masticar poetry project came about from research into the interpretation of poetic texts, with the staging of writings by contemporary authors, and sets out to turn its back on orthodox recitals, instead finding room for the actions of an actor. Thus the graphic expression of the text takes on new life in a movement that holds onto the tension felt between the individual and group cohesion, in this way allowing for the birth of an organic piece.
The participation of the authors in this process has consisted of providing selected texts, as well as the music they evoked or were inspired by when writing, thus recreating the ambience accompanying the author during the writing period in the cases of Óscar Curieses, Ernesto García, Alessandro Ghignoli, and Luis Luna.
Therefore, this project sets out to intervene in performance spaces using movement and voice, playing with repetition, sequences, reiteration, and, ultimately, with rhythm.

PROCESS is a performance piece created by the pluri-disciplinary artist Christophe Berville as a theatrical story that, as its name suggests, is a process. What it is is the plastic intervention that transforms an approach into a series of living images where painting, live music, staging, and the audience form a whole; breathing in time during that momentary lapse between reality and a certain gothic lyricism.
‘Siameses’ is based on two dresses that come to life, two characters that express, via poet and dramaturg José Luis Ríos's text ‘El sudor y la carne’ [Sweat And Flesh], a carnal alleviation; and the ensemble is accompanied by an ambience of sound conceived as the unifying echo of all the sounds that emanate from the performance itself. After coming to life, through the transformation excuted by Berville, the two beings undergo the Frankensteinian construction of a single individual.

The city of Madrid is a hotbed of stress that we can begin to perceive from the very moment we start our day, riding the Metro or in a traffic jam, or in the long hours at work, or even when the day is finishing in our homes. With all this hustle and bustle we forget the noxious effects that this has on our health, and the necessity to devote just a few minutes to taking care of ourselves. Of course, music can help us to concentrate on the “here and now” and not get carried away by past probems or by the problems that the future may hold for us. In this activity we will be shown a series of very simple relaxation techniques that we can put into practice at home or even on a Metro ride.
Following this exercise, Javier Tornos will offer us a live electronic music performance, inviting the audience to try out these relaxation techniques, focusing on the sensations the music gives you.
