AMERICAN BOY

SCORSESE DOCUMENTARIES.  Martin Scorsese met Steven Prince during the shooting of Taxi Driver (1976), where Prince was playing a weapons dealer.  Later Prince had a secondary role in New York, New York (1977), and he even worked as a production assistant for The Last Waltz (1978).  The famous American director forged a friendship with Prince, a former heroin addict who had also been Neil Diamond's road manager.  In American Boy (1978), Prince tells the story of his life, with his unique and sometimes dark personality taking center stage.
